Revealed in September 2024 and due to arrive in Australia in the first quarter of 2027 (January to March), the new twin-turbo V6 petrol-powered Patrol will succeed the aging, 16-year-old Y62 V8, giving Nissan a more modern competitor to Toyota’s LandCruiser 300 Series. Standard equipment on all Patrol variants includes LED lights, three rows of seating (for eight seats in total), tri-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera with ‘skeleton view’, Nissan’s connected car services, Google built-in and Google Gemini AI. The Patrol Ti’s equipment list includes 18-inch gunmetal alloy wheels, a full-size spare wheel, synthetic leather seats, a leather-accented steering wheel, dual 12.3-inch screens for the digital instrument display and infotainment system, plus the ProPilot suite of driver assistance systems. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/a9/b3/a9b3e204-3117-4792-9a32-46184029df44/content/images/2026/08/2027-nissan-patrol-y63-6.jpg) Stepping up to the Patrol Ti adds a panoramic glass roof with tilt and slide power sunroof, privacy glass (second row and rear windows), power tailgate, roof rails, rain-sensing wipers, and an Intelligent Rear View Mirror. Above this, the Patrol Ti-L gains 20-inch machined alloy wheels, adaptive suspension, larger 14.3-inch screens, a head-up display, a 12-speaker Klipsch audio system, and a rotating view for the 360-degree camera. It also brings other highlights, such as a three-slot, Pathfinder and Navara-inspired grille, a unique lower front bumper, Lava Red accents (tow hooks, D-pillar), flared wheel-arches, 20-inch black wheels, and all-terrain tyres. Finally, the flagship Ti-L Reserve adds over the Ti-L+ 22-inch step-machined alloy wheels, air suspension, trailer connect assist, an electric trailer brake controller, massaging front seats, and dual 12.8-inch entertainment screens for second-row passengers. Australia is the first right-hand drive market to receive the Y63 Patrol, which is the local debut of a twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/a9/b3/a9b3e204-3117-4792-9a32-46184029df44/content/images/2026/08/2027-nissan-patrol-y63-2.jpg) The Y63 Patrol’s twin-turbo V6 engine produces 317kW and 700Nm, and is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, representing significant increases on the 298kW and 560Nm outputs of the Y62’s 5.6-litre V8, as well as its six-speed automatic. Every variant features full-time four-wheel drive, with an interlocking transfer case, electronic locking rear differential (housed in a casing cast in Melbourne), and features eight drive and terrain modes. While riding on the same 3075mm wheelbase as the Y62, the Y63’s measurements of 5205mm long, 2030mm wide and 1955 mm tall make it 40mm longer, 35mm wider and 15mm taller than the outgoing model. Nissan says the Y63 Patrol has a braked towing capacity of 3700kg, “subject to towbar/towball capacity and is based on the fitment of a Genuine Nissan towbar”. ![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/a9/b3/a9b3e204-3117-4792-9a32-46184029df44/content/images/2026/08/2027-nissan-patrol-y63-1.jpg) "We will have a variety of towbar and tongue configurations for the all-new Patrol to suit the needs of Australian customers, including those towing heavier loads of up to 3700kg," a Nissan Australia spokesperson clarified, suggesting the 3700kg capacity will be for vehicles with a 70mm tow ball. All Nissan Patrols will be covered by the brand’s 10-year, 300,00km warranty, which is a standard five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty that is extended by 12 months every time the car is serviced on time through Nissan. Servicing is required every 12 months and is capped at $499 per visit for the first five years. Order books for the 2027 Nissan Patrol are now open.
