Melbourne-based Savic Motorcycles, one of Australia’s few full-vehicle manufacturers in operation, has announced it is releasing a limited-edition book to celebrate its 10-year anniversary.

Founded in 2016 by former Ford engineer Dennis Savic, the rollout of Savic’s first electric motorcycles faced multiple delays, a global pandemic and rising costs before finally rolling into customer driveways earlier this year.

Dubbed ‘Savic Motorcycles Chapter 01’, the hardcover 120-page book is made in Australia as a celebration of the local brand’s journey to its first deliveries.

“While parts of our journey unfolded in the spotlight, this retrospective opens our deep archives to share early concepts, raw workshop photographs, engineering iterations, and behind-the-scenes moments never shared publicly,” reads its description.

“From early concept drawings and prototype revisions to finished production models, Savic Chapter 01 brings together the complete and unfiltered story of how an ambitious dream became a reality - curated alongside founder Dennis Savic as a piece of history captured across 120 pages.”

Pre-orders opened earlier this month, and will close on November 2, with the first copies set to be dispatched from November 23\. The book is priced from $65.

Savic announced earlier this year it was opening a “strategic investment opportunity” in a bid to “accelerate the company's next stage of scale”.

Presently the company’s operations are based in West Melbourne, with its headquarters encapsulating its engineering, product, brand and customer operations.

The SM1 powertrain used by the Savic C-Series is built in a company-owned subassembly operation in Taizhou, China, where other Australian-designed components for the electric motorcycle are produced.
