Ford Australia has recalled 1085 examples of the Ranger and Everest, due to a fault which impacts both the ute and SUV.

Impacted 2024-2026 model year examples of the Ford Everest Ambiente and Ranger XL, XLS, XLT, and Sport, the 10.1-inch infotainment screen in the vehicles may not work while reversing.

“Due to a manufacturing issue, the centre display screen may stop functioning and display a blank screen. This may result in the rear-view image not being displayed whilst reversing,” Ford said in its [recall notice](https://www.vehiclerecalls.gov.au/recalls/rec-006748?ref=torquecafe.com).

“If the rear-view image is not displayed on the centre display screen while reversing the vehicle, this could increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to persons located behind the vehicle.”
