# GM’s V8 SUV gets blacked out with new package

Until now, GMC has only sold one variant of one product in Australia, with its Yukon SUV only receiving the Denali treatment in a bid to simplify the choice for buyers.

To give the Yukon more street appeal, GMC has today revealed the Denali Signature Black package for its three-row SUV, providing it with even more menacing looks for a higher price.

Starting from $181,490 plus on-road costs, the Signature Black grade adds $6500 to the cost of the base Yukon Denali, bringing with it a number of cosmetic and equipment enhancements not usually available to the SUV.

GMC Yukon Denali Signature Black

Starting with the black features of the Signature Black variant, the Black Vader treatment has been applied to the grille, badging, side mouldings and fascia accent trim at the front and rear, while the bonnet moulding and roof rails are now finished in gloss black.

The Yukon’s huge 24-inch wheels are also now painted black, while the GMC logo in the grille has been illuminated.

All examples of the GMC Yukon Denali Signature Black are finished in Onyx Black paintwork, normally a $1750 optional extra for the SUV.

GMC Yukon Denali Signature Black

Inside, the second row of three seats have been swapped out for a pair of captain’s chairs, reducing the overall occupant capacity of the Yukon to seven from eight people. 

On top of this, it also gains a power-sliding centre console.

Mechanically the GMC Yukon Denali is unchanged in Signature Black guise, continuing to be powered by a 6.2-litre V8 engine, capable of producing up to 313kW and 624Nm.

GMC Yukon Denali Signature Black

Drive is sent to all four wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission.

For now it features the highest braked towing capacity of any SUV in Australia with a 3628kg figure, more than the 3500kg maximum of the Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series and Nissan Patrol Y62.

However, it’ll [lose that title next year ](https://torquecafe.com/car-news-2027-nissan-patrol-towing-storage-capacity-specs/)when the Y63 Patrol arrives with a 3700kg braked towing capacity.
