Ram Trucks Australia has announced the recall of 1262 examples of the 1500 pickup, due to a fault which could lead some of the rear seatbelts to not operate correctly in a crash.

"Due to a manufacturing defect, the second-row centre and left-side seat belt buckle anchors may not meet specifications. As a result, the seatbelts may not operate as intended," Ram said in its recall notice.

"In the event of an accident, a seat belt not operating as intended could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants."

The recall impacts 2026 Model Year examples of the 1500, amid a global recall of the pickup for an identical fault, believed to impact nearly 1.5 million pickups.
