Dana White, CEO and president of the UFC, has spent US$1.5 million (A$2.1 million) on two Ram pickups, buying the first allocation slot of the new 1500 Rumble Bee SRT as well as a classic SRT-10 at auction.

At an auction hosted by Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas, the first Ram 1500 Rumble Bee SRT and one of the few Dodge Ram SRT-10s were offered as a package deal, with all proceeds from the sale going towards the Folds of Honor and UFC Foundation charities.

White, who featured heavily in promotional material for the [Rumble Bee SRT earlier this year](https://torquecafe.com/ram-news-1500-rumble-bee-worlds-fastest-pickup-ute-australia/), was on the block alongside Barrett-Jackson chairman and CEO, Craig Jackson, when bidding for the pickups commenced, with the UFC supremo submitting the winning bid.

Revealed as the world’s fastest ute/pickup, the Rumble Bee SRT is the flagship of the three-strong 1500 Rumble Bee lineup, which opens with the self-titled version (powered by a 5.7-litre V8 engine), and the Rumble Bee 392 (with a 6.4-litre engine).

Powered by the same supercharged 6.2-litre ‘Hellcat’ V8 in the TRX SRT, the Rumble Bee SRT packs a serious punch, developing 579kW and 881Nm, identical power numbers to the off-road 1500, but about 40Nm less.

Despite this, thanks to its 22-inch wheels with 325mm-wide rear tyres, it can accelerate from 0-62mph (97km/h) in just 3.4 seconds, complete a quarter-mile (402m) pass in 11.6 seconds, and reach a top speed of 274km/h.

That latter figure, if it is tested and verified, would make it the world’s fastest production pickup and ute, beating the record held by the 255kW HSV Maloo, set in 2001 with an average two-way speed of 271.44km/h, set by Mark Skaife.

White’s example will be the first off the production line, finished in custom Diamond Black Crystal Pearl-Coat and Molten Red Pearl-Coat two-tone paint scheme, and feature the blacked-out graphics package.

The Dodge SRT-10 it comes with is a legend in its own right, with just over 10,000 examples made in the mid-2000s, each of which were powered by the 8.3-litre V10 engine from the Dodge Viper.

Customised by RealTruck, the one sold to White as a part of the package features a unique two-tone paint scheme with a yellow upper body and black lower body, black hood graphics, custom color-matched wheels, and Viper-inspired bedside graphics.

[As previously reported](https://torquecafe.com/v8-powered-ram-trx-rumble-bees-one-step-closer-to-australia/), the Ram 1500 Rumble Bee is on the cards for Australia, with a spokesperson for the brand saying in June it is “in close talks with the factory about securing an allocation for Australia.

“It is too early to speculate on which of the three Ram 1500 Rumble Bees we would bring to Australia – the 5.7 litre Hemi, the 6.4-litre Hemi, or the supercharged 6.2.

“Australia has a deep history with high-performance utes, and we know a Ram 1500 Rumble Bee will be right at home, down under.”
