Suzuki Australia is bringing back the Jimny Heritage three-door, announcing a further 300 examples of the retro-themed, pint-sized 4x4 are soon arriving.

Having initially launched in early 2023 with 300 units in five-speed manual guise, the return of the Suzuki Jimny Heritage has seen the additional 300 cars all be fitted with a four-speed automatic transmission.

Priced from $42,490 drive-away, the new Jimny Heritage is $1500 more than the three-door automatic it’s based on, though its price represents a sharp increase on the $33,490 plus on-road costs tag fixed to the previous manual-only version three years ago.

On top of the base Jimny three-door, the Heritage edition adds red front and rear mud flaps, a unique cargo tray and decals, build number badge (ranging from 301 to 600, adding to the previous 300), and an ‘exclusive Jimny Heritage pack’.

The base Superior White paint finish is the only no-cost option, with Jungle Green and Medium Grey adding an extra $745 to the final price. Unlike its manual-only predecessor, there’s no black finish available.

There’s no changes to the powertrain, which consists of a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 75kW and 130Nm, driving all four wheels.

Suzuki Jimny Heritage

Pre-orders for the Suzuki Jimny Heritage edition are now open in Australia, becoming the most expensive three-door variant ever offered locally, but far from the dearest Jimny in showrooms.

That honour goes to the five-door Jimny Rhino, launched in June with a starting price of $44,990 before on-road costs in five-speed manual guise, and $47,490 plus on-roads for the four-speed automatic.
