# Final BMW-based Toyota GR Supra to be auctioned for Fast and Furious star’s charity

Toyota has donated the final MkV GR Supra – the most recent iteration of the sports car, famously twinned with the BMW Z4 – to Reach Out WorldWide, a non-profit disaster relief organisation founded by Fast and Furious star, Paul Walker.

Walker starred as Brian O’Conner, the protagonist of every Fast and Furious film (excluding Tokyo Drift) from the original (The Fast and The Furious, 2001) to Fast and Furious 6 (2013) until his tragic death in a car crash in late 2013, having made his final appearance posthumously in Furious 7 (2015).

He founded Reach Out WorldWide (ROWW) in 2010 in response to the 2010 Haiti earthquake, providing teams of doctors, nurses, paramedics and other first responders to provide support following disasters.

As a part of the GR Supra Final Edition’s auction – held by Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale in January 2027 – the proceeds from its sale will be donated to ROWW.

“Reach Out WorldWide was built on a passion for helping those in need, started by my brother Paul in 2010 and has continued growing thanks to our great team, exceptional volunteers and the support of individuals and companies around the world,” said ROWW CEO, Cody Walker.

“We are so grateful to Toyota for donating the final MkV GR Supra to ROWW, which will hopefully break the previous MkV sales record and make a massive difference for communities facing disaster.” 

The car in question is a very special one, being the last MkV GR Supra produced by Toyota, or rather by Magna Steyr for Toyota in Austria, where it was built alongside its mechanical twin, the BMW Z4.

Launched in 2019, the GR Supra (known only as the Supra then) is based on a chassis developed jointly by Toyota and BMW, but it’s powered by a BMW-sourced 3.0-litre straight-six engine.

The GR Supra Final Edition features a six-speed manual transmission, a baffle plate, better cooling, a tweaked electronic differential and a titanium Akrapovič muffler.

Other performance enhancements include four-piston Brembo front brakes, floating calipers, forged aluminium wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres, KW adjustable dampers, additional underbody bracing, a more aggressive aerodynamic package, and Alcantara Recaro Podium seats.

The car set to be auctioned in January has been signed by Toyota chairman Akio Toyoda (who also goes by his racing pseudonym Morizo), and features a commemorative VIN ending in “99999”.

Given its importance, it could break the existing auction record for a MkV Supra, having been set by the first example – VIN 20201 – in January 2019, selling for US$2.1 million.
