The pre-launch popularity of the new off-road oriented Nissan Patrol Pro-4X has arguably exceeded the brand’s expectations, raising questions about if there’s room for a Warrior.

[In August](https://torquecafe.com/2027-nissan-patrol-y63-price-and-specs-new-gen-toyota-landcruiser-rival-locked-in/), Nissan announced pricing for the upcoming Y63 Patrol lineup ahead of its arrival in Australia throughout the first quarter of 2027 (January to March), expanding from the current three-variant range to six variants.

While the outgoing Y62 Patrol is offered in Ti, Ti-L and Warrior guise, the Y63 will include the Ti, Ti+, Ti-L, Ti-L+, Pro-4X and Ti-L Reserve variants from launch, with no Premcar-fettled Warrior to be confirmed for now.

With all Ti-badged Patrols focused on on-road luxury, it’ll be the place of the Pro-4X to act as the spiritual successor to the Warrior, featuring off-road focused upgrades such as adaptive air suspension, a unique front bumper, flared wheel-arches, 20-inch black wheels, and all-terrain tyres.

When asked whether the Patrol Pro-4X negates the need for a new Patrol Warrior, Nissan Oceania corporate communications senior manager Angus Thompson said we’d “have to wait and see what’s going to come”, while managing director Steve Milette added “it’d be a logical choice”.

“For now, it's great for us to launch with the range we’ve announced already and the price points which are very competitive relative to market players,” Thompson added.

Milette added that 50 per cent of Nissan customers ordering the new Patrol have put their hand up for the Pro-4X, despite it being one of six variants and the second-dearest, with prices starting from $137,590 before on-roads.

“When we had the \[order\] window open for registrations of interest, there were 2500 customers that gave us their info,” Milette said.

“The orders that have been converted so far, half of them are Pro-4X. So it shows you the power of the Pro-4X model itself.”

As reported earlier this week, Nissan has remained coy on the future of the Warrior product lines, with new generations of the Navara and Patrol off-road specials yet to be confirmed.

“\[It’s still a\] work in process, I would say, so there's nothing to confirm,” Milette said when asked about future Warriors.

“The last of the V8s Patrol campaign is doing quite well, but with the Warrior philosophy we continue to work with Prempar and at what opportunities could we look at for the future, with the optics of Australians love serious off-road capable vehicles.”

While a Y63 Patrol Warrior has yet to be penciled in or hinted at, Premcar has form with the upcoming SUV, last year building the[ QX80 Terrain Spec](https://torquecafe.com/australian-firm-helps-build-landcruiser-killer/) for Nissan’s luxury brand, Infiniti.

Jacked up with new wheels and all-terrain tyres, it also featured wheel-arch flairs, side steps, a rooftop-mounted pop-up tent and light bar, plus more underbody protection, previewing upgrades which could eventually be seen on a new Patrol Warrior.
