You've probably never heard of the Voyah Passion S, but this viral marketing stunt has attempted to get the Chinese electric SUV into more minds.

A sub-brand of China's state-owned Dongfeng, Voyah has recently launched the Passion S, a rival to the Tesla Model Y and Xiaomi YU7, as well as a plethora of other mid-sized electric SUVs in the nation.

Though it may not stand out too much from the crowd, the brand wanted to change that by replicating a famous video of [Michael Schumacher completing a loop of a tunnel in a Mercedes-AMG SLS](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvpSYrXdmio&ref=torquecafe.com).

And that the Passion S did, with a video uploaded to YouTube and other social media platforms showing it complete the loop at approximately 130km/h.

With centrifugal force on its side, the circa-2.3 tonne SUV was able to loop around the tunnel utilising special ramps, though it appears disaster was only just avoided as its safety systems applied the brakes towards the end of its rotation.

A video uploaded to social media the week leading up to the loop showed this had already happened, with a camouflaged version appearing to attempt the stunt at a lower speed and having its brakes applied, only just completing the rotation as it crashed back down to the ground.

Though the video uploaded by Voyah included a number of quick edits and cuts to increase the theatre of the stunt, a one-take video was also put online by CarNewsChina, showing the feat was well and truly real.

In China, the Voyah Passion S is available in single, rear-motor guise (producing 300kW0, or with an added front motor (bringing outputs up to 475kW).

Prices start from 229,900 Yuan (A$47,950) and range up to 309,900 Yuan (A$64,630).
