Official: Nissan Navara PRO-4X Warrior unveiled

Only days after ‘leaking’, the new Nissan Navara PRO-4X Warrior has been officially revealed.

As expected the new Warrior is a more rugged, tougher-looking take on the PRO-4X, but Nissan and engineering partner Premcar are keeping the mechanical upgrades under wraps for now.
The Warrior is a Nissan Australia program, built exclusively for this market with the assistance of Premcar, the Melbourne-based engineering specialist. Premcar has 35 engineers working on the project, many with experience from either Holden and Ford.

Testing of the car is almost complete and details of its mechanical changes are expected in the near future.

“Nissan chose Premcar as its core partner to produce the first Navara N-TREK Warrior in 2019, a vehicle we believe set a new benchmark for locally developed dual-cab utes in Australia, and the first of what will soon be several exciting new Warrior models in our line-up,” explained Stephen Lester, Nissan Australian managing director.

“Australia’s unique landscape is both rugged and exhilarating, and the Warrior program is designed to deliver vehicles that share those attributes, without sacrificing safety, technology or on-road comfort.

“The Navara PRO-4X Warrior by Premcar will continue to build on that legacy, and we can’t wait for our customers to experience it for themselves.”

While staying quiet on the mechanical upgrades, Premcar director, Bernie Quinn, said his company has tried to be the “toughest” Navara to take on the likes of the Ford Ranger Raptor, Volkswagen Amarok W580 and Toyota HiLux RuggedX.
