The first examples of Hyundai’s ground-breaking Ioniq 5 N have arrived in Australia and have taken a starring role at this weekend’s World Time Attack event at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Hyundai has taken over the south pit complex at the circuit, with displays of the new Ioniq 5 N electric performance car, the championship-leading i30 N Sedan TCR racer as well as showcasing the first local look at the facelifted 2024 Hyundai i30 Sedan N.
To show-off the Ioniq 5 N’s dynamic capabilities, a specially prepared version, complete with rally-style handbrake, is doing demonstration runs with ‘Drift King’ Keiichi Tsuchiya. The man credited with inventing drifting as a sport has unsurprisingly been a major draw to the Hyundai stand and created interest in the Ioniq 5 N.
Notably, Hyundai is also using the event to engage with existing customers by offering a free double pass to the two-day event and a free 15-point vehicle safety check. Unlike the typical dealership service, this one allows the owners to be present for the check-up and ask questions of the technicians to learn about their car.
