Siapa... Kinerja Roush

Any NASCAR fan will be familiar with the name Roush. Automotive entrepreneur Jack Roush started his team in 1988 and has been a staple of Ford’s line-up in the American category ever since, even if the team has evolved to become RFK Racing (Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing).

What you may not know is that Jack Roush has built himself a large business building and supplying performance parts and accessories to a variety of Ford vehicles. Founded in 1995, Roush Performance has grown to become a powerhouse – both literally and metaphorically – supplying parts for the Mustang, F-150, Ranger, Focus, Taurus and Bronco.

It even produces what are known as Roush ‘factory-modified vehicles’, which are so heavily upgraded they are no longer officially considered Fords but are actually a new ‘Roush’ model. These models feature Roush Performance changes to the engine, suspension, chassis and interior, all to make them faster and more exciting to drive.

But it’s the parts and accessories business that’s really at the heart of the company. It builds everything from ready-to-run crate engines to individual components like superchargers, cold air intakes, exhausts, suspension upgrades, new wheels and unique grilles.

This is where Roush has been able to expand into the Australian market, with the locally-based Herrod Performance offering the US-built parts for Mustangs here. Indeed, the Ford Australia approved Mustang R-Spec used a Roush Performance supercharger to extract its extra power, which made it the most powerful Mustang available here.

But Herrod Performance isn’t the only place to find Roush parts in Australia, with both Tickford and Mustang Motorsport both offering its products locally to anyone looking to power up their ‘Stang.

While RFK Racing is based in North Carolina, in the heart of NASCAR country, Roush Performance is headquartered in Livonia, Michigan. This positions it closer to Ford’s headquarters in Detroit, Michigan.

And while the two sides of the business are separate, they clearly both help each other. With so many companies building aftermarket parts having a brand name synonymous with NASCAR, as well as a close connection to Ford, helps Roush Performance stand out from the pack.
