Between January and June, a total of 42,541 motorcycles were sold, which is a 5.6 per cent decline on the same period in 2023. Here’s the breakdown:
Road Motorcycles: Representing 39 per cent of total sales, road motorcycles continue to dominate the market. With 16,568 units sold, they remain the preferred choice for many riders.
Off-Road Motorcycles: Close behind, off-road motorcycles captured 38.2 per cent of the market, selling 16,248 units – that’s only 320 less units than road bikes! See you out bush my friends.
Off-Highway Vehicles (OHVs): Including ATVs, four-wheelers, and three-wheelers, OHVs made up 16.8 per cent of the market. These vehicles offer extra grunt, versatility and are popular in various recreational and practical applications.
Scooters: As expected, scooters were the lowest-selling two-wheeler category, with 2,570 units sold. Despite being a niche market, scooters have a dedicated following, particularly in urban areas and meep meep, we love all our two-wheel vehicles equally!
Brand Performance
In terms of brand performance, Yamaha leads the pack, followed closely by Honda, Kawasaki, and KTM. These brands have consistently delivered quality and performance, making them top choices for motorcycle nuts.
