The Ram 1500’s Hemi V8-powered revival has already seen four new dedicated performance variants added, and now a fifth could well be on its way.

In a post on social media, Roush Performance – best known for providing aftermarket parts to Ford modifiers for decades – teased it has a new pickup in the works with Ram.

“It's going to be a rowdy, all-American summer,” the post reads.

No details about the partnership have been released, however when brightness is added to the image, it’s clear the 1500 in it is either the RHO or TRX SRT, both of which are already capable off-road machines.

Currently the RHO is exclusively powered by the ‘High Output’ version of a twin-turbo 3.0-litre straight-six engine, while the TRX SRT has been reborn with a supercharged 6.2-litre V8.

The vast majority of Roush’s brand-new models are based around Fords, such as the F-150 and Mustang, however last year the brand collaborated with Nissan to launch the Frontier Pro-4X R.

In the case of the Nissan pickup, Roush added new bespoke Ohlins dampers, off-road ready wheels and exterior modifications, and other cosmetic changes to the Frontier, without touching its engine.

Time will tell whether it gets even more access to the Ram 1500, which in reborn V8-powered guise has so far only been fettled by Fox Factory with Ram’s approval, culminating in the supercharged 1500 Lowered.
