The annual showdown in American football – the Super Bowl – means it’s time for car companies to unleash their ultimate television commercials.
Porsche has jumped the game and released the full two-minute version of its ad ahead of the game – Monday Australian time. The epic video – called ‘The Heist’ – is focused on its all-new Taycan electric car but the supporting cast is a fleet of some of the brand’s most iconic models in an exciting chase across Germany.
The premise of the commercial is the Taycan has been ‘stolen’ from the Porsche Museum and the security staff give chase. Lucky for them there are plenty of rapid pursuit vehicles in the museum and they end up following in a 911 GT2 RS, 918 Spyder, 930 Turbo, Cayman GT4, a 917 racer and even a tractor. There’s also a latest generation 992 version of the 911 complete with a rally-style handbrake for some spectacular stunt driving.
