He’s still an Alfa Romeo-Sauber driver, but Valtteri Bottas returned to his old workplace – Mercedes-AMG – recently to collect his Mercedes-AMG One hypercar.
The Finnish racing ace was given one of the F1-inspired road cars as a gift, as he and former teammate Lewis Hamilton helped to develop it during his time with the German outfit. The AMG One uses a modified version of the 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 engine that powered Bottas and Hamilton to a string of F1 wins.

Bottas’ particular car is finished in a unique shade of blue, in keeping with his preference for that colour on his helmets during his time with Mercedes-AMG.
The AMG One will join the honorary-Aussie’s impressive garage that also includes a Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series, which is finished in an F1-inspired livery of black with small silver three-pointed stars used during his time with the team.
It’s also not the first new car he’s picked up in 2023, with his current employer gifting him an Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm, the limited edition high-performance sports sedan with Sauber-developed aerodynamics.
