Audi is using Ken Block to make electric cars cool so it’s no surprise his new daily driver is just that – a cool electric car.
The American rally star has shown off his customised Audi RS e-tron GT in the video below. As we’ve previously reported, the RS e-tron GT will become the German brand’s new hero model, effectively replacing the V10-powered R8 supercar.
The RS e-tron GT makes 440kW of power and 830Nm of torque from its dual electric motors, making it capable of running 0-100km/h in just 3.1 seconds. Although Block is concerned his personal model won’t be quite as quick thanks to his modifications.
These include a roof-mounted storage box, which somewhat defeats the purpose of Audi fitting the RS e-tron GT with a carbon fibre roof, but Block likes to snowboard so he needed the extra storage space.
Other modifications include the flat white paint job as well as the Rotiform wheels, with different styles front and rear.
This is a more restrained take on an electric Audi than the S1 ‘Hoonitron’ that the German giant has custom-built for his upcoming YouTube video, Electrikhana. The wild-looking Hoonitron was inspired by Audi’s legendary Group B rally cars of the 1980s but swaps five-cylinder turbocharged power for electric motors.
Check out the video below and let us know what you think of Block’s new ride in the comments on social media.
