Is the Kia Tasman tough enough for Australian ute buyers?
The brand isn’t just hoping that’s the case, it’s been hitting the dusty and rocky trails at Kia’s US testing facility to put the all-new ute through its paces. In this officially released video you can watch the Tasman in action as it shows off what it’s capable of.
One element that does stand out, however, is the sound. All intel points to the Tasman being powered by the company’s exisiting 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine, but the Tasman in the video doesn’t sound like a diesel. Instead it has a distinctive V8-like rumble and growl – is Kia taking creative licence or is there a shocking surprise in store…? (It’s almost certainly the former, but we can dream).
