An all original 1971 Ford XY GT has been uncovered after it had been hidden away and preserved for 36 years on blocks and is now going under the hammer at Lloyds Auctions this weekend as part of the Christmas Carmada event.
“This vehicle is in completely original condition and is a once in a lifetime barn find for all Aussie muscle car enthusiasts, you do not want to miss the opportunity to own this piece of history,” said Mr. Lee Hames, Chief Operating Officer for Lloyds Auctions.
The vehicle has had just one owner and has just over 100 thousand miles on the clock fitted with the V8 351 Cleveland engine and finished in Yellow Ochre.
This is one of the most iconic muscle cars Australia has ever produced and it is ready for its next chapter with a new custodian.
This is Lloyds second Classic Car Grand Carmada event with over 350 cars going under the hammer.
“The Tickford Racing team who placed second at the Bathurst 1000 last weekend will also be offering their supercar for auction this weekend which could potentially be the next Bathurst winning car in 2022,” said Mr. Hames.
The Cam Waters’ 2021 Monster Energy Tickford Racing Ford Mustang is now open for online bidding.
It is a two-day long event with auctions starting from 10:00am Saturday 18th December and running until 7:00pm Sunday 19th December.
Some other cars on offer include a 1971 Ford Falcon GTHO Phase III, 1977 Holden Torana LX A9X GMP&A, 1988 Ferrari and a 2020 Chevrolet HSV ZL1 Camaro – the only one in the world to be fitted with Lambo style scissor doors direct from the factory.
