Supercheap Auto Supersizes Charitable Giving Program in Australia

Supercheap Auto revs up the launch of a new fundraising initiative in Australia with a supercharged in-store incentive to support official charity partners Beyond Blue, HeartKids and the Australian Road Safety Foundation.

Each Supercheap Auto store in Australia has selected one of these charities to rally around, led by the team members’ connections to each cause.

On Saturday 18 June, superheroes will staff the registers and roam the aisles of the 77 stores supporting HeartKids as store members suit up in their best superhero costumes to participate in Hero 4 HeartKids Day and raise much-needed funds.

Supercheap Auto customers can donate at the checkout through a register round-up or a fixed amount to the store’s charity of choice.

Supercheap Auto will supersize the donation by matching customers’ fundraising efforts up to $50,000 with the full amount donated to each not-for-profit partner.

Australia’s largest specialty automotive parts and accessories retailer announced the major partners in February 2022 with an initial $50,000 donation to each charity.

The multi-year partnership will help raise awareness, funds and support for Australians across three core causes: mental health, congenital heart disease and the physical and mental illness, death and disability that arise from road incidents.

Supercheap Auto Managing Director Benjamin Ward said the three charity partners align with the company’s focus on road safety, family and mental health.

“Supercheap Auto is proud to partner with Beyond Blue, HeartKids and the Australian Road Safety Foundation and strengthen our commitment to these important societal issues,” Mr Ward said.

Injecting a little friendly competition, the team that raises the most money for its nominated charity will have a further $10,000 donated on behalf of Supercheap Auto.

HeartKids CEO Fiona Ellis said the partnership with Supercheap Auto will allow the charity to continue providing necessary support to HeartKid families.

“Funds raised by Supercheap Auto and its customers will help our support team provide a wide range of services, including financial support, counselling, peer to peer support, accommodation and many other services,” Ms Ellis said.

Australian Road Safety Foundation Founder Russell White said the fundraising support of Supercheap Auto will help spread its road safety message across Australia.

“With this partnership, we can save lives and be the influence that leads a road user to choose safety and prevent a road crash,” Mr White said.

Beyond Blue Chief Community Officer Patrice O’Brien said the support of Supercheap Auto is vital to ensure mental health conversations continue among the community.

“I want to thank Supercheap Auto for this partnership and for encouraging their customers, staff and the broader community to make mental health a part of everyday conversations,” Ms O’Brien said.
