2027 KTM 690 Rally confirmed for Australia
KTM's 690 Rally is due in Australian dealerships from December 2026.
KTM has revealed the 2027 KTM 690 Rally, positioning it as the spiritual successor to the 640 Adventure and slotting it between the 690 Enduro R and the brand's larger multi-cylinder Adventure models.
The Rally is built on the current 690 Enduro R platform and uses the latest-generation 693cc LC4 single-cylinder engine, producing a claimed 58kW and 73Nm through a six-speed gearbox.
Total fuel capacity rises to approximately 20 litres, made up of the existing rear tank plus two additional front-mounted tanks. A handlebar-mounted switch lets the rider select between front and rear tanks, with the reserve warning tied to whichever tank is active.
A new rally tower and integrated windscreen dominate the styling change, with LED lighting derived from the KTM 450 Rally Replica.
The bodywork also incorporates a storage compartment behind the right-side fairing with a dedicated tool-pouch mount, along with handguards, wide footpegs and a skid plate with centre-stand mounts.
The cockpit is built around a 4.2-inch digital display with KTMconnect smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, music and call handling, while a USB-C port and a 12-volt outlet are both fitted. Cruise control is available as an option.
Suspension is handled by a 48mm WP XPLOR split-function fork with 265 mm of travel and a WP XPLOR rear shock with 250mm of travel, both fully adjustable. Wheel sizes carry over at 21-inch front and 18-inch rear, with Brembo brakes front and rear.
Ride modes include Street, Off-road and an optional Rally mode, with cornering ABS and cornering MTC using a 6D sensor. Rally mode adds Dynamic Slip Adjust, which allows additional rear-wheel slip when more drive is needed before returning to the rider's selected traction-control setting.
KTM quotes the 690 Rally at 161.5 kg without fuel, with a 935 mm seat height and 265 mm of ground clearance.
Service intervals are stretched for long-distance use, with a 15,000 km oil-change interval and valve-clearance checks scheduled at 30,000 km.
The 2027 KTM 690 Rally is scheduled to arrive at authorised KTM dealers in Australia and New Zealand from December 2026, with pricing to be confirmed closer to launch.
