Phillip Island’s MotoGP exit honoured with special-edition Aprilia
The winners of what was the final MotoGP Australian Grand Prix have paid tribute to the Phillip Island Circuit, unveiling a Aprilia RS660 tribute bike.
Phillip Island’s final MotoGP appearance didn’t go according to plan over the weekend, after torrential rain and poor weather meant Sunday’s Grand Prix was cancelled – resulting in the circuit falling off the calendar with a whimper rather than a bang.
The track will also make its last Superbike World Championship at the start of the 2027 season, leaving fans and brands to reflect on its impact on the world of motorcycle racing.
To pay homage to the historic circuit, Aprilia has released a special edition bike, with the RS660 Phillip Island Tribute bidding an early adieu to the Victorian venue for now.

Aprilia has won 10 World Championship races at Phillip Island across the 125cc, 250cc and MotoGP classes, with its most recent victory coming in 2025, after Raúl Fernández emerged victorious in what became the final MotoGP Grand Prix at the track.
The livery of the special edition RS660 bears the logo of Phillip Island, incorporated into its fairings, while also reflecting the green, white and red colour scheme of the circuit, plus Aprilia itself.

A decal on the fuel tank displays the brand’s 10 victories at the track, while a serial number plate is on the steering head.
With a passenger seat cover fitted as standard, the RS660 Phillip Island Tribute is primed for track days with its single-rider focus.

It is mechanically unchanged from the standard RS660, which means a 660cc twin-cylinder engine sits in the frame, producing 78kW and 70Nm.
The brand’s suite of safety systems including traction control, wheelie control, engine braking control, cornering ABS and adjustable engine mapping via the ride-by-wire throttle are fitted, as well as launch control, a bidirectional electronic gearbox and a cruise control system.
Australian deliveries are due to begin in March 2027 – just a few weeks after Phillip Island’s final WSBK race – with prices starting from $23,590 ride-away.
