Long live wagons! Audi A6 allroad returns to Australia
After a brief hiatus, the Audi A6 allroad is coming back to Australian showrooms, joining a short list of wagons on sale locally.
Audi Australia is keeping wagons alive and cool, locking in the A6 allroad for a local revival, to be sold alongside its smaller A5, S5 and RS5 counterparts.
Having last been sold in 2024 in its fourth-generation guise, the new fifth-generation Audi A6 allroad has been locked in for an arrival in the first half of 2027, with pricing already confirmed.
Prices start from $127,900 before on-road costs for the A6 allroad e-hybrid, the first plug-in hybrid version of the allroad offered in Australia.
Powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor, the A6 allroad e-hybrid produces up to 270kW and 500Nm, while its 20.7kWh usable battery pack delivers up to 87km of claimed electric-only driving range.

For an extra $10,000, the A6 allroad TDI is priced from $137,900 plus on-roads, offering a turbo-diesel engine like almost every other version of the A6 allroad previously sold locally.
Fitted with a 3.0-litre V6 engine, the TDI produces 220kW and 580Nm, representing a 37kW gain over its predecessor, but at the cost of 20Nm.
That’s despite it now being fitted with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, incorporating a belt alternator starter and powertrain generator, as well as an electrically powered compressor to reduce turbo lag.

Both versions of the lifted wagon are equipped with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (rather than the previous eight-speed torque-converter automatic), as well as all-wheel drive.
An air suspension system comes as standard on the A6 allroad, providing up to 55mm of ride height adjustment, depending on the drive mode and speed.
There’s also a rear-wheel steering system, capable of adding five degrees of lock at up to 60km/h to help negotiate tight bends, or up to two degrees at higher speeds to provide additional stability.
Compared to the standard A6 – which isn’t sold in Australia – the allroad continues with its tradition of incorporating a wider bodykit, with small wheel-arch flares in black.

Despite its high-riding ability, the A6 allroad is fitted with 20-inch wheels in TDI guise and 21-inch wheels on the e-hybrid.
Other standard features include Matrix LED headlights, Audi’s S Line interior package, perforated Nappa leather upholstery, an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen, 10.9-inch front passenger display, Bang & Olufsen 16-speaker sound system, quad-zone climate control, heated, ventilated, massaging front seats, and a panoramic glass roof, to name a few.
The optional $9900 Premium Package adds digital Matrix LED headlights, digital OLED rear lights, power-latching doors, a heated steering wheel, heated rear outer seats, an electrically adjustable steering column, advanced parking functionality and manual rear-door sunblinds.
Deliveries of the Audi A6 allroad begin in Australia in the first half of 2027.
