Ford F-150 recalled due to fire risk
More than 3700 Ford F-150s in Australia have been recalled, after it was discovered a fuel tank fault could lead to a vehicle fire.
Ford Australia is recalling 3745 examples of the F-150, due to a fault which could result in the pickup catching fire while driving.
“Due to a manufacturing defect, the fuel tank strap may not have been adequately secured to the frame rail and could detach from the vehicle while driving,” Ford said in its recall notice.
“This could cause fuel to leak and, in the presence of an external ignition source, result in a vehicle fire.
“A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders, and/or damage to property.”
