The Australian lineup for the Ford Ranger Super Duty will grow even further for the 2027 model year, with the addition of more luxurious single- and Super-cab offerings.

At the launch of the Ranger Super Duty XLT – which offers more comfort-oriented features than the self-titled ute – Ford Australia confirmed the higher-end grade will get the pair of two-seat body styles for MY27, which may arrive later this year.

Priced from $88,990 and $92,490 before on-road costs respectively, that will put the XLT versions of the single-cab chassis and Super-cab chassis at a $6000 premium compared to the equivalent base versions of the Ranger Super Duty.

This mirrors the price increase to the dual-cab chassis Ranger Super Duty XLT, which starts from $95,990 plus on-roads.

The XLT variant adds leather-accented upholstery on the seats and steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, carpet floors, and all-weather front floor mats, while also introducing unique 18-inch wheels with ‘Super Duty’ branding.

After initially launching in base Ranger Super Duty guise across single-, Super-, and dual-cab chassis styles only, the launch of the dual-cab XLT has also brought with it the option of a traditional, ‘pickup’ body style with a tub.

This is not only available to the XLT but also to the base Ranger Super Duty, adding $4000 to the price of both dual-cab versions.

The pickup will also get a handful of exclusive such as a 8.9-inch digital rear-view mirror ($1250), an Aeroklas twin in-bed drawer system ($1250), a ‘stylish canopy’ ($4500 to $4700), and a commercial canopy ($4700).

It largely mirrors the variant structure of the Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series – arguably the Ranger Super Duty’s biggest rival – which can be had in WorkMate, GX and GXL guise across single- and dual-cab chassis body styles.

Regardless of variant, all examples of the Ford Ranger Super Duty are powered by a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 engine, which produces 154kW at 3250rpm and 600Nm at 1750rpm, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel drive system.

The Ranger Super Duty is one of the few vehicles available to car licence holders with a 4500kg braked towing capacity (when fitted with a 70mm tow ball), a 4500kg gross vehicle mass (GVM) and an 8000kg gross combined mass (GCM).
