Lamborghini unveils Miura celebration for modern V12 successor

The Lamborghini Miura, often regarded as one of the first supercars, turns 60 this year, and the brand is celebrating the anniversary in an unexpected way.

Five years ago, Lamborghini unveiled the Countach LPI 800-4 as its 50 year tribute to the Countach, which led to mixed feedback due to its polarising design.

Not wanting to repeat the same problem, the Revuelto Miura 60° Homage was unveiled overnight as its attempt to honour six decades of the Miura, without going as radical as a new look for the current supercar flagship.

Limited to 99 examples, the bodywork of the Revuelto is unchanged, though its exterior includes bespoke additions such as a Miura 60 logo (above the standard badge), gloss black brake calipers and a gloss black Lamborghini rear logo below the now matte black exhaust outlets.

However, the biggest link to the Miura is through its colour scheme, which is exclusively linked to the classic supercar by offering the same paint combinations as were available on the iconic Lamborghini.

These includes Rosso Arancio, Arancio, Giallo, Verde Scandal, Verde Metallic, Blu Tahiti, Blu Notte, Nero Noctis and Bianco Monocerus, all of which can be teamed with one of two ‘liveries’ where the bottom section and wheels are in a contrasting colour.

Customers can pick between a Oro Elios livery paired with Altanero Shiny Gold wheels, or the Grigio Nimbus livery combined with Altanero Matt Titanium Diamond wheels.

In addition to these changes, owners of classic Miuras can work with Lamborghini’s Ad Personam program to recreate their vehicle’s colour on the Revuelto edition, if the existing colourways do not match their own.

Inside, there are a handful of Miura links too, such as Classica Trim upholstered seats – similar to the old ‘cannelloni’ look – as well as ‘Miura 60’ embroidery between the passengers.

A plaque showing the serial number – Miura 60° – Serie Speciale 1 di 99 – is fitted to the driver’s side of the cabin.

There’s no performance changes to the Lamborghini Revuelto’s already capable powertrain, consisting of a 6.5-litre V12 engine, paired with three electric motors – one for the rear, two at the front – making a combined 747kW.

“With the Revuelto Miura 60° Homage, we wanted to create a special series capable of celebrating a milestone in our history through an exclusive interpretation of our V12 HPEV super sports car," said Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann. 

"The combination of heritage-inspired liveries, exclusive Ad Personam details and production limited to just 99 examples expresses the connection between our heritage and the virtually limitless personalization capabilities that define Lamborghini. 

“For our collectors and customers, exclusivity means authenticity, rarity and lasting emotional value: the Revuelto Miura 60° Homage has been created precisely with this philosophy."
