Singer unveils stylish Louis Vuitton 911 reimaginations

The collaboration started with a request from Singer to LV to help design a dashboard clock, before growing into two new models completely draped in LV luxury.

One is a Singer Classic based on the 964 coupé chassis while the other is a Classic Turbo on the 964 cabriolet chassis.

The LV Classic is finished in saffron and cobalt blue colours in a nod to Louis Vuitton's packaging (the blue tyres are inspired by handles and ribbon) while there is nothing subtle about the heavily LV-inspired interior.

The Classic features roof racks for a surfboard or skis and comes with custom luggage and footwear to complete the LV look.

That saffron bodywork is far from original, though, getting the full Singer carbon fibre treatment.

The Classic is powered by a Singer-tuned four-litre, naturally-aspirated, air-cooled flat six engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission.

The styling of the Classic Turbo was done by Nicolas Ghesquière, Artistic Director of Women’s Collections at Louis Vuitton. The white livery was inspired by the "white limestone that has shaped the Parisian landscape" with gold accents, leather and wood all a tribute to classic motorboat design.

The Classic Turbo also feature's Singer's carbon fibre bodywork, with power coming from a 3.8-litre, twin-turbo flat six engine and a six-speed manual transmission with selectable driving modes.

Both cars feature an LV 'capsule' which, depending on the car, includes custom LV attire ranging from a helmet to driving gloves to sunglasses and even a silk suit.

The centrepiece for both cars, however, is the dashboard clock, the genesis of the entire collaboration.

Based LV's Tambour watch design, the clock can be removed from the car to be converted into a desk clock.

It is also accompanied by a 40mm Tambour automatic watch.

"In addition to the design and production of this clock by La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton workshops in Switzerland, it quickly became apparent to us that this collaboration with Singer could extend to the personalisation of every functional element of the vehicle, enhancing them through our expertise in leather craftsmanship and watchmaking."

Singer's chief strategy office Mazen Fawaz added: "Louis Vuitton brought an exceptionally bold and refined design vision focused on expressing the Art of Travel.
