Some things in life are impossible to think of without linking it to another, and the Porsche 911 GT3 and the Nürburgring is just that.

The almost 21km-long Nordschleife course is where the 911 GT3 has made its mark for years, showing how relatively light weight and a good setup can result in faster lap times than outright power.

Now that the Nürburgring is turning 100, Porsche is celebrating the anniversary with the limited edition 911 GT3 100 Jahre Nürburgring, paying tribute to the circuit in Germany’s Eifel mountains.

Limited to 100 examples for the German market only, buyers can opt for one of two colours, white or GT Silver metallic, both featuring green accents (referencing the Nürburgring’s ‘Green Hell’ nickname) that doubles as a protective film.

Optional is the Manthey Kit, which has a specially sculpted floor, a larger front lip, rear diffuser and larger rear wing, other enhancements included adjustable suspension and lighter-weight 20- and 21-inch forged wheels, shod in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyres.

In this guise, the 911 GT3 was able to set a time of six minutes and 50.863 seconds around the 20.832km course in the hands of 2024 Bathurst 12 Hour winner Ayhancan Güven, faster than the road-legal Ford Mustang GTD, and only marginally behind the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X which has almost 2.5 times the power.

To give greater links to the motorsport heritage of the 911 GT3, the tow hook is also green, with white arrows indicating its recovery points. There are track map decals on the wings, and owners can choose their own racing number from 0 to 999 for the doors, rear window and bonnet.

The wheels are finished in a high-gloss California Gold colour, teamed with satin black centre locks.

Stepping inside, the sill plates have inscribed “Welcome to the Green Hell”, illuminated in white against brushed aluminium black. The puddle lights also project the Nordschleife map onto the ground.

The interior is upholstered in extended leather and Race-Tex trim in Black, contrasted by special cross-pattern decorative stitching on the upper areas of the dashboard and doors.

While the driver sits on a green seat (complete with the circuit logo on its headrest), the passenger side is black with a standard GT3 embroidered logo. A walnut gear selector is available for six-speed manual versions of the model.

As an added bonus, buyers can get a matching Porsche Design Chronograph 1 watch to their 911 GT3, itself including the Nürburgring logo on the matt-black dial, a black strap made from Porsche leather, and GT Silver decorative stitching.

"The Nürburgring has been part of our development programme for decades and is the spiritual home of our GT cars,” said Porsche Vice President Product and Individualisation Offering, Alexander Fabig.

“This edition captures the atmosphere of the Nordschleife through numerous exterior and interior details that combine motorsport, performance and craftsmanship.

"Together with Style Porsche, we have created a vehicle that pays homage to the thrilling allure of the Nordschleife and to 100 years of motorsport history."
