What do you get when you combine Porsche’s latest and greatest creation with a former Grand Prix ace on a classic F1 circuit? The answer is two-minutes of must-see viewing.
Australian F1 legend Mark Webber was on hand at the recent international launch of the Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 at Portugal’s Estoril circuit to demonstrate what the new model is capable of in the hands of a master.
The 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 is powered by a (as the name implies) 4.0-litre flat-six making 294kW of power. It’s paired exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission, and thanks to a camera pointed at the pedals we can see Webber beautifully heel-and-toe on each downshift.
The Cayman GTS 4.0 will arrive in Australia in the middle of the year, priced from $172,400 (plus on-road costs).
Estoril hosted the Portuguese Grand Prix from 1984 until 1996, and was the scene of Ayrton Senna’s first F1 victory in 1985.
