Editor of torquecafe.com, Stephen Ottley

What is torquecafe.com? Well, let me explain.

First, let me start by introducing myself. My name is Stephen Ottley and I’ve been a journalist since 2001. I started my career covering motor racing and enjoyed that for several years before I expanded my horizons and moved into automotive journalism in 2007.

Since that time I’ve driven thousands of cars both in Australia and around the world. I’ve been lucky enough to experience the incredible diversity that the automotive world offers up – from off-roading with Land Rover through snow and mud, to hot-lapping Porsche’s latest and greatest with a Le Mans legend.

Put simply, I’ve driven a lot of cars so I think I’m the right man to guide you through the auto landscape that we’re embarking on with torquecafe.com.

It won’t be a one-man show, however, and we will enlist some of the best talent in the business to bring you all the latest and greatest car news and reviews.

None of which would be possible without the leadership of Brett Murray, the same man that saw the potential for a new motor racing website and started Speedcafe.com – now one of the largest and most successful sites of its kind in the world; not just Australia.

Our vision for torquecafe.com is to create a destination for car enthusiasts to come and indulge their passion and learn about the latest and most interesting developments in the high-performance and aftermarket automotive spaces.

In other words, if you’re looking for advice on buying a city hatchback – you’ve come to the wrong place. We want to focus on the cars, SUVs and even utes that are exciting and appealing. Cars should be fun and there’s already enough websites out there telling you the numbers and statistics. We love driving, the engineering and the excitement that comes from appreciating a fine automobile – and that’s what we want to share with you.

We’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest news (so you’ll know more than your mates) and take you behind the wheel of some of the most desirable cars on the road with our weekly reviews. And that’s only the beginning!

So buckle up and come along for the ride with us. We want to create the best content for you and the best way to do that is for you to tell us what you love (and what you don’t) so feel free to drop me a line at [email protected] to let me know what you think.
