The all-new Ferrari Roma has arrived in Australia

While most car companies will simply roll a new model into dealerships as quickly as they arrive, for brand’s like Ferrari a new model deserves a special occasion to celebrate.

To mark the local arrival of the all-new Ferrari Roma the Italian brand will be hosting a series of invitation-only pop-ups at its dealers around the country.

Using the ‘La Nuova Dolce Vita’ theme of the new front-engine coupe named for the Italian capital, guests will be wined and entertained in the “carefree, pleasurable lifestyle” of Rome in the 1950s and ‘60s.

The Australian tour will visit Ferrari Sydney and Ferrari North Shore, Ferrari Richmond in Victoria, Ferrari Brisbane and Gold Coast in Queensland as well as Ferrari Adelaide and Barbagallo Ferrari in Perth. It will also cross the Tasman to New Zealand’s Continental Cars Ferrari in Auckland.

“After much anticipation and excitement, it brings us great pleasure to present the all-new Ferrari Roma for the first time in Australia,” explained Dieter Knechtel, president of Ferrari Far East and Middle East. “Ferrari Roma reflects a uniquely Italian lifestyle, offering an extraordinary experience of understated luxury and elegance. This new model is truly Ferrari, perfectly balancing performance, innovation, technology, driving pleasure and design.”

The Roma is a new addition to the Ferrari line-up, effectively offering a hard-top companion to the Portofino convertible.

The two cars share the same basic underpinnings, including the same front-mounted 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine. It pumps out 456kW of power and 760Nm of torque and sends that performance to the rear-wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic; which is unique to the Roma.

Customer deliveries of the new Ferrari Roma will commence in early 2021

However, while they share the same mechanical D.N.A. and roughly the same proportions, Ferrari has given the Roma a unique look. The long bonnet and short rear overhang is designed to evoke memories of the company’s famous grand tourers of the ‘60s. But it’s not a retro tribute, with modern lines and technology (such as the rear spoiler integrated into the rear windscreen) designed to give it a contemporary look.

The Roma is designed to give the brand a new entry-point model to better compete against the likes of the Porsche 911 and Aston Martin Vantage. It will be priced from $409,888 (plus on-road costs) with first Australian deliveries expected in 2021.
