China’s most popular EV comes to Australia
The Geely EX2 was China's best-selling EV of 2025, and now it’s arriving in Australian showrooms with a price tag to undercut most rivals.
Chinese car giant Geely is continuing its Australian expansion, announcing local pricing for the incoming EX2 EV ahead of its arrival later this month.
The Geely EX2 will kick off from $26,490 before on-road costs in entry-level ‘EX2 Complete’ guise when it arrives by the end of July, undercutting similarly sized electric rivals such as the BYD Dolphin ($29,990 plus on-roads), plus the GAC Aion UT and MG4 EV Urban ($31,990 plus on-roads.
Stepping up to the range-topping EX2 Inspire brings with it a $3500 price increase, starting from $30,990 before on-road costs.

Both versions of the EX2 are rear-drive, with the Complete featuring a 60kW and 150Nm electric motor, fed by a 35.3kWh LFP battery (which can be charged at up to 60kW), delivering a claimed driving range of 252km on the WLTP lab test cycle.
The EX2 Inspire gets a more potent 85kW and 150Nm electric motor, paired with a larger 47.1kWh battery pack for 345km of claimed driving range, as well as a higher 80kW DC charging rate.
Measuring 4135mm long, 1805mm wide and 1580mm tall, the EX2 has a 2645mm wheelbase, with a 70L front trunk (‘frunk’), and a 375L.

Standard equipment across both grades includes an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and satellite navigation.
While the Complete has a basic four-speaker sound system, the Inspire steps up to six speakers and adds 256-colour ambient lighting, a wireless phone charger, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.
Both EX2s have 16-inch wheels, though the Complete gets steel wheels with hubcaps while the Inspire receives alloys.
Geely is running a launch offer between July 12 and August 31, throwing in a free 7kW home EV charger and waiving the usual $600 premium paint charge.

Moon White is the sole no-cost colour, with Star Silver, Comet Grey, Nebula Beige, Aurora Green and Nova Pink all available as premium options (free for now, thanks to the launch offer). The Inspire also adds a contrasting black roof and metallic side accents.
Safety equipment includes seven airbags, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive and cruise control, blind-spot detection, lane-keeping and lane-change assistance, and rear cross-traffic alert with braking. The Inspire adds a 360-degree camera.
Geely’s connected services switch on from August, bundling 24 months of access to a revamped smartphone app for remote locking, climate control and scheduled charging, while emergency call functionality is slated to arrive via an over-the-air update in the final quarter of the year.
The Geely EX2 arrives in dealerships nationwide from late July 2026.
