Porsche’s Toy Story-inspired 911s raise $3 million for charity
A collection of three Porsche 911s inspired by the main characters of the Toy Story series have led to a sizable charity donation.
Porsche has raised even more money for US charities, after an anonymous buyer donated US$3 million (A$4.35 million) while purchasing three 911 sports cars, each uniquely inspired by Toy Story characters.
The three 911s were revealed earlier this month ahead of the release of Toy Story 5 in cinemas, paying tribute to main characters Buzz Lightyear, Woody and Jessie.
According to Porsche, the ‘intended buyer’ of the three vehicles has donated US$1 million (A$1.45 million) to each of the three charities supported by the carmaker: Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, the American Red Cross, and Starlight Children’s Foundation.
“When we first learned about the project – the incredible cars and the work these charities do for children and families – we knew it was a natural fit,” the anonymous buyer said in a press release distributed by Porsche.

“Our passion for unique Porsches and giving back runs as deep as our love of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and the rest of the Toy Story 5 characters.”
It’s the second time a Porsche collaboration with Disney-Pixar has resulted in a significant donation to charity, with its one-off ‘Sally Carrera’ (from the film Cars) tribute 911 Carrera 4 GTS selling at auction in 2022 for US$3.6 million (A$5.22 million).
The three Toy Story 911s consisted of a 911 GT3 RS for Buzz Lightyear, a Carrera T for Woody, and a Targa 4 GTS for Jessie.
