Supercars champion Brodie Kostecki reveals special-edition Ford Mustang
Not one to let Triple Eight take the limelight, Dick Johnson Racing driver Brodie Kostecki has revealed a customised Ford Mustang that punters can soon buy.
Supercars powerhouse Triple Eight broke the mould when it and Ford Australia announced earlier this year that the Mustang Dark Horse would receive a special ‘T8-Spec Pack’ later this year.
The first in a relatively short line of racing-themed models sold by Ford in Australia, with the last offering coming in 2007 in the form of the ‘Falcon XR Ute by Craig Lowndes’, the T8-Spec Pack will soon be joined by another special edition Mustang.
Revealed by 2023 Supercars Champion Brodie Kostecki, the upcoming ‘BK Limited Edition’ Mustang GT is a collaboration between the current Dick Johnson Racing driver and long-time sponsor, the Lancaster Motor Group.
Exclusive to the dealer and set to go on sale later this year, it joins the likes of the Mustang SM17, the DJR 40th Anniversary and Tickford Bathurst ‘77 Special as modified versions of the pony car not officially backed by Ford.
Starting life as an automatic Mustang GT, the BK Limited Edition gets a number of upgrades from Ford Performance parts supplier Herrod, such as a cold air intake and Borla cat-back exhaust as well as an engine tune, though no new performance figure has been announced.
On top of this, it gets a set of lowering springs from Herrod, allowing the new 20-inch Rotiform wheels to better fill the guards, while bodykit add-ons from My Mustang Mods help achieve a more aggressive look.
Lancaster Ford is yet to put a price on the BK Special Edition Mustang GT, however the price of purchase will not only include a signed engine cover by Kostecki, but also a ride in his DJR Supercar.
