BMW celebrates the Isle of Man TT with special bike
BMW currently makes the fastest bike to lap the Isle of Man TT’s Mountain Course, honouring the famous race with a new superbike.
It’s been three years since Peter Hickman set the new lap record around the Isle of Man TT Mountain Course, piloting his BMW M1000RR around the 60.718km circuit in 16 minutes and 36.115 seconds.
That time is yet to be eclipsed, even now as the 115th Isle of Man TT takes place, prompting BMW to celebrate the race by releasing a limited-run version of its record-breaking bike.
Doing what it says on the box, the M1000RR Limited Edition Isle of Man TT is capped at just 115 examples globally, all of which are adorned in the same unique livery.

Finished in British Racing Green, the M1000RR’s bodywork adds sections of the TT Mountain course, with the circuit’s left-hand turns on the left fairings, and right-hand turns on the right.
The airbox cover is carbon but also adopts a map of the course as well as the Isle of Man TT logo, while there are accents on the aluminium fuel tank too.
Riders get to sit on an Alcantara seat, and look at a numbered dedication to the bike on the top of its yoke.
No changes have been made to the M1000RR’s powertrain, which consists of a 1.0-litre four-cylinder engine, producing 160kW and 113Nm, enough to easily propel the circa-190kg bike to speeds above 300km/h.
