One of the six final HSV Maloos from longtime Holden performance specialists Walkinshaw has come up for sale, and it’s potentially one of the most important cars ever made by the firm.

Listed by Chrome Temple, this HSV GTSR W1 Maloo is build #E005, the sixth and final W1-spec Maloo built, after production was initially limited to four utes.

Those initial four utes were all completed in 2017, however in the following years rumours emerged that there had been two additional GTSR Maloos which had been upgraded with the W1 package, with this one claimed to have its work done in 2023.

Originally one of 606 GTSR Maloos, it is now counted as one of the six GTSR Maloo W1s, and its $1.1 million price tag reflects its exclusivity.

Late last year, one of the four original HSV GTSR W1 Maloos – and the only one which was painted in the iconic XU3 Yellah hue – sold for $1.2 million, making it the most expensive Holden to be sold at auction.

All HSV GTSR W1 Maloos were powered by the supercharged 6.2-litre ‘LS9’ V8 engine, which was hand-built by Walkinshaw to produce 474kW and 815Nm, making it the most powerful production vehicle ever built in Australia.

Drive is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed Tremec manual transmission, with Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tyres, SupaShock dampers and AP Racing brakes helping to keep it under control.

This particular example is finished in Heron White, and its interior features the Alcantara-upholstered seats, centre console, and dashboard of the W1, having originally come out with an Onyx leather cabin.

According to the listing, it has completed just 39km since new, though it’s not known if that includes its mileage before the W1 conversion.

The sale of the GTSR W1 Maloo includes its Walkinshaw build receipts, documentation of the build, and a car cover with its #E005 build number.
