Scott Hookey’s “Ferrari” house on Queensland’s Gold Coast would be the perfect pad for any member of the Tifosi – the legion of international fans of the Prancing Horse.

The former Australian GT Trophy champion has put his multi-million dollar mansion on the market and is using its Ferrari/motorsport theme as a selling point.

Designed by award-winning local architect Stuart Osman designs, the house was built by well-known luxury builder, Adrian Hill.

The house is located in Sanctuary Cove and is being marketed by fellow motorsport enthusiast and leading estate agent Alex Phillis from Alex Phillis Luxury Real Estate.

The North facing home comprises four levels with the master bedroom penthouse taking up the entire top-level.

The house is anchored by a 10-car garage which is home to a list of exotic cars and bikes, including a Ferrari 812.

The Ferrari theme features throughout with a dedicated bar which is finished in Ferrari red and a wall of framed collectable posters from the famed Italian manufacturer.

The motorsport theme continues with more than $300,000 worth of large automotive artwork, including a couple of paintings of Ayrton Senna from his McLaren days.

There is also a beer-on-tap man cave which has dozens of motorsport artifacts on display as well as side-by-side racing simulators.

Hookey’s passion for sport extends to the “Bradman room” which is highlighted by rare keepsakes from Sir Don Bradman – oh, he also has the clubs with which Adam Scott won the 2013 US Masters (Sanctuary Cove is Scott’s home club).

Once you have finished playing with all that you can rest up in a fully decked out home theatre or jump into the Ferrari-themed golf buggy and head to the Sanctuary Cove village for dinner.

“I don’t think I have been in another house which has such a cool motoring theme,” said Phillis.

“Sure, people are fans and have bits and pieces, but this house is the next level.”

Hookey was originally a top-order batsman for NSW and Tasmania in the domestic Sheffield Shield competition and also had stints in England up until 1995.

He won the GT Trophy Series in a 458 Ferrari in 2016 after clinching four of eight races and being on the podium in the rest.

He dabbled in other forms of racing over the next few seasons but has not done any racing since 2018.

Hookey’s business interests are wide and diverse, but he has had a long career in the childcare industry and recently had a focus on renewable energy, in particularly tidal energy harvesting.

He was a founder of Next software company which develops tools to gather and manage evidence to demonstrate compliance with government, industry and/or third-party standards and regulations.

He is currently involved in a legal dispute with a former business partner which resulted in the closure of one of his child cafe centres at Hope Island.

While the collection of memorabilia is stand alone, the majority of the items can be negotiated with the sale according to Phillips.
