Lego celebrates BMW M3's 40th anniversary with new Speed Champions set
The legendary BMW M3 E30 has joined the Lego Speed Champions lineup to mark its 40th anniversary.
One of the most iconic automotive nameplates in history has received a fitting birthday present, with the BMW M3 E30 joining the Lego Speed Champions lineup to mark four decades since it launched.
The 358-piece kit captures the E30's most recognisable design cues – thanks to the sharp-edged nature of the bricks – including the kidney grille, rear spoiler, and the distinctive four round headlights that defined the original M3's nose.
Wearing a livery that draws on BMW M Motorsport heritage, the paint scheme has also been applied to a real, full-size M3 E30 showcar — meaning the plastic brick replica and the actual vehicle will share an identical look when the set is released on August 1, 2026.

The full-size BMW M3 and its Lego counterpart
At 17cm long and 7cm wide, it comes with functional wheels and a driver minifigure wearing a BMW M T-shirt – the latter of which can be bought from BMW’s merchandise shop.
Australian pricing starts from $39.99, roughly on par with the vast majority of Lego Speed Champions kits.
It’s been a big year for Lego’s automotive department, which also launched a Speed Champions kit of Ken Block’s Hoonicorn Ford Mustang, as well as Michael Schumacher’s Ferrari F2004.
