Suzuki Jimny Maroon Edition celebrates State of Origin losers
Revealed just as the Queensland Maroons lost a rare State of Origin decider at home, Suzuki Queensland has decked out the Jimny in local colours.
Niki Lauda once dedicated his Lifetime Achievement Award to the losers in competition, and now Suzuki Queensland appears to have done the same.
Revealed briefly before last night’s State of Origin Game Three at Brisbane’s Lang Park, the regional division of Suzuki unveiled the Jimny Maroon Edition, a new promotional vehicle for its local fleet.
Based on the three-door Jimny, Suzuki Queensland took the popular pint-sized 4x4 to The Wrap Boutique to have it dressed up in the Maroons’ colours, including white racing stripes and side decals.

Technically a concept for now, the Suzuki distributor for the Queensland and New South Wales Northern Rivers region is taking votes from the public on whether to turn the Jimny Maroon Edition into a dealership-ready model.
However, the timing of its unveiling came just before the Maroons lost the deciding State of Origin series game to the New South Wales Blues, becoming just the fourth time (after 1994, 2005 and 2024) that Queensland lost the final game at its home stadium with the series on the line.
Despite this, Suzuki Queensland is forging ahead with its plans to show off the Jimny Maroon Edition across some of its dealer network in the coming months.

Starting from tomorrow (July 10), it’ll visit Maroochydore, Southport, Moorooka, Aspley, Caloundra, Caboolture and Indooroopilly, though no stops at Lang Park (better known as Suncorp Stadium) are planned as yet.
Its reveal comes less than a month after Suzuki Australia – which operates the brand’s dealerships in every other region – unveiled the Jimny XL Rhino, a $10,000 package on top of the five-door off-roader.
