They are two of the most evocative names in motor racing – Senna and McLaren.
Sadly, Ayrton Senna passed away in 1994 but his nephew, Bruno, is carrying on the family legacy. Bruno is an ambassador and test driver for McLaren Automotive and his latest work with the company was captured on film.
Bruno, who started 46 grand prix, drove the new McLaren Solus GT at the Silverstone circuit. The Solus GT is McLaren’s Gran Turismo video game creation come to life. Powered by a unique 5.2-litre V10 engine, rather than McLaren Automotive’s traditional twin-turbo V8, Senna unleashed the screaming 609kW engine around the British Grand Prix circuit.
McLaren is only building 25 examples of the Solus GT and each owner will get a coaching session with Bruno to ensure they can handle this single-seater track day hypercar.
