Hyundai i20 N Shadow Edition farewells hot hatch
The Hyundai i20 N is approaching the end of the road in Australia, but not without a final limited-run send-off.
Hyundai is farewelling the current i20 N hot hatch from Australian showrooms, with the pocket rocket receiving a 100-unit limited edition to ride into the sunset.
The Hyundai i20 N Shadow Edition is priced from $41,500 before on-road costs in its base Atlas White finish, a $4000 increase on the standard i20 N which is exiting showrooms this year. Opting for Phantom Black (as pictured) brings its price up to $42,095 plus on-roads.
For the extra money, buyers get a handful of Shadow Edition-exclusive additions, such as grey and red lower door decals, and 18-inch matte bronze alloy wheels, which appear to be identical to the design of the Speedy Carbine available at some tyre shops.
Hyundai has also added black wheel nuts, usually an $89 extra.

Inside there’s a numbered Shadow Edition plaque, as well as a handful of other options which have been ticked to become standard equipment, such as an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel ($759) and gear knob ($169), plus rubber floor mats ($280) with the pattern of Pirelli’s P Zero tyres.
The i20 N Shadow Edition continues to be powered by a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine, producing 150kW and 275Nm, delivered to the front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.
"The i20 N has struck a chord with Australian customers by delivering an engaging and accessible performance car experience that’s equally at home on the road and racetrack," said Hyundai Australia chief operating officer, Gavin Donaldson.

"With just 100 examples available, the Shadow Edition provides a fitting farewell – its exclusive monochrome styling celebrates the i20 N’s unique character while giving enthusiasts the opportunity to own a distinctive piece of Hyundai N history."
Production of the i20 N ended for Australia in March 2026, though the brand said in late 2025 it had “secured a strong final production run to ensure we have enough stock to last through to the end of next year.”
The i20 N was recently pulled from Europe - along with its bigger i30 N sibling - due to emissions regulations, making Australia one of the few markets the Türkiye-built model is sold in.

A new-generation i20 N is expected to launch globally in 2027, with Hyundai boss José Muñoz recently saying the N brand will sell more than seven vehicles by 2030, with the i20 N likely to be revived with hybrid power.
Local Hyundai executives have previously said the door is well and truly open for the i20 N and its bigger i30 N sibling to keep petrol power in some form for the next generation.
“There are successors to existing ICE models that will retain an ICE powertrain, just can’t share too much,” Hyundai Australia’s director of marketing and product, Andrew Tuitahi, told Torquecafe in September.
“ICE or hybrid, or both,” he added, while also saying in terms of vehicle size, “there will be a spectrum small through medium.”
